…in good coffee.
…in trusting my gut.
…when playing truth or dare, always choose dare.
…in laughing loud and often.
…when you feel stuck, change your surroundings.
…in doing more of what matters and less of what doesn’t.
…creating beautiful and useful things.
…if I am the smartest person in the room, I am in the wrong room.
My true passion is user experience. I’ve evolved beyond just creating beautiful graphics to become a problem solver and am committed to making the world easier to use. Learning what users need and want is the key and I enjoy solving puzzles and finding the right pieces to bring it all together.
I appreciate challenging projects and creative people and work best surrounded by a team that is comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback for the sake of building better products together. I am a natural team-player just as much as I enjoy working independently.
The first time I realized a had a passion for user experience was while I was cooking. I was gifted a recipe scrapbook years ago and I love to fill it with recipe snippets from family, friends, and the internet. Each time I make a recipe it’s a little different. I gather as many versions as I can find in order to pull together the pieces that work best and then test them on family and friends for feedback. I am lucky to have a natural instinct for trial and error (and cooking too). I’m not sure I’ve ever made a recipe exactly the same twice and that’s not by accident. Refining the recipes is a huge part of the fun.
In more recent years I’ve picked up an obsession with tiki craft cocktails. Homemade syrups and spice combinations fill my house with wonderful aromas and my family and friends are always excited to come over and try what I’m testing out this time.
When I’m not designing or cooking, I love to work with my hands. I am a creator at heart. Painting, sculpting, photography, building and crafting, it all fuels my creative fire.
That’s enough about me, let’s talk about you!
